Designers Visit Store

Friday, 15 October, 2010

Since the store has been open (which is 4 weeks) Liz and Neville Findlay from Zambesi and Trelise Cooper have visited the store. It was nice to see them, and for them to see the shop now that it is open and stocked with their product.
We have also been visited by the designers for Nom’D and Ng Design.

Opening Day and First Customer

Wednesday, 6 October, 2010

The shop officially opened to the public at 11am on 17th September 2010. Many people came to view the fashion on offer. The first customer was Sheena Sarkar, a New Zealander from Wellington, who has been living in Paris for 6 years. Sheena had attended the launch party the night before. She purchased some Kate Sylvester and Karen Walker pieces (they looked great on her) and received a copy of the New Zealand Fashion Design book. The day ended at 7pm and there was a celebratory dinner for me with my family and friends (who had travelled to Paris for the opening) – thank you.

Launch Party

Wednesday, 6 October, 2010

The streets of Paris came alive to the sound of New Zealand music and entertainment. We had the launch party for the store on the night of 16th September 2010 at the store. It started at 6pm, where guests were served New Zealand food, wine and a vodka based cocktail. There was a DJ playing only New Zealand music. The maori cultural performance started at 7pm, the Manaia Group who are based in London performed and brought some New Zealanders in the crowd to tears – it was very moving. During the performance the street was closed off (by the number of people) and there were locals hanging out their windows watching in awe. There were some items of fashion on display, encouraging guests to come back and see the full range when the shopped opened the next day. There was a great vibe and a good time was had by all, it was midnight when the last guests left.
